I tried step 2 - both ways manual and through internet. Its still doing the same thing. When I go to open a word document from my email - it opens the blue Word box and states "opening in a protected view" and it never actually opens - I have waited up to a half hour.

I have the same question Report abuse. That is great and all, now what about a distribution point? A little search and I found out you just copy the DVD to a network distrobution point. First, I copied the DVD to my software share. I saved the changes and dropped the MSP file into the updates folder within the Office share folder. A technet article describes the process you need to follow here. Now just be sure to apply that Group Policy to the correct workstations and you will be good to go.
The workstations should get the new version of Office next time it is restarted. You may want to test deploy it to a few machines to make sure everything goes smoothly. Email Not published. Network Share Setup Copy your entire Microsoft Office disk out to a network share that is readable by any user in your domain. Browse to the Enterprise. WW folder or Pro. WW folder in your deployment network share. I don't like that as much because the user or programs can edit it.
As for why continue, no technical requirements just normal not wanting to replace what they barely use as is, cost, blah blah blah. Not looking to be converted into replacing it, just looking for help tracking down the ADMX files so I can manage it a little easier.
