Are you smarter than a 1st grader game

Look, we may not have kids, but we've been around enough kids to know two things. The first is that no matter what, they will not share. We don't know if it's some sort of biological aversion or what, but children just don't understand why sharing is caring. Secondly, since when did children like raisins? We don't care how well you've brought up your kid, there's no way they are badgering anyone on the playground for their raisins.

Cake maybe, but not raisins. If we found out that a child was planting their own crops, we'd become deeply ashamed about how far ahead of us that child clearly is. Seriously, becoming self-sufficient and growing our own food is something we've wanted to do for years now, but it takes so much work.

It's the sort of thing that you can't do very well while trying to juggle a full-time job as well, although that does mean it makes more sense to get your kids to do it for you. No matter how hard we try, no matter how many times we've looked this up as adults, we've never been able to get our heads around long division.

Don't even get us started on remainders either. The concept of fractions always made sense, but anything around that sort of thing just never stuck with us. Maybe in the future, we'll find a love for some seriously difficult division, but it seems pretty unlikely if you ask us. Never say never though Math was definitely our worst subject at school, so we're going to start you off easy with this one just in case it was yours as well because we really do feel for you.

That being said, they're definitely going to get harder the further you get in. You didn't think this was just going to be about English questions, did you?

Sorry, but that would be way too easy on you! We expect 1st graders to work with numbers, don't we? We're currently going through a period of egg obsession, meaning that pretty much every morning we're having two poached eggs. We're not sure what this is about, although it's possibly a reaction to switching back to a non-vegan diet after a year of being without dairy. What we're trying to say is, we would be irrationally angry at a child that came up to us to tell us they've broken an egg, no matter what type of sentence they were using.

Ever have a problem with the decimal place? We always remember our Math teacher getting annoyed when we couldn't properly figure out how to add things up on both sides of the decimal place, but then she was a horrible woman who didn't enjoy her job that much, so she would've found any excuse to get annoyed at us really.

That was the teacher that very quickly made us realize that none of these adults actually knew what they were doing either! Unless you had strict parents, which we did, we should probably tell the truth here and say that there's no way you immediately washed up after dinner, and we don't blame you!

Depending on how much you've eaten, you need that time to sit back and let yourself digest. However, if you want your pocket money for the week, then you work through that stomach cramp and you keep washing the dishes. Thank god we're older now so we don't have to suffer anymore.

This question makes us remember the exact moment we lost all interest in ever pursuing Math into later life, and that's when they started to tell us that there was a set way that you put each and every process into action, which meant that everyone would always come out with the same answer.

Firstly, that's way too uniform for us because we like things a little more fluid. Secondly, we couldn't be bothered remembering the set way you had to do things. While we never had a problem learning how to tie our shoes like that kid who was in Velcro till he about fourteen, we certainly did have a problem with the concept of hours and minutes. Telling the time did not come easily to us, to the point where we prayed for the day that digital clocks would become the norm.

We wanted to pass a law that made it illegal to tell the time with anything other than computer technology. We know what you're thinking right now and we agree that some of these are getting silly, but you'll be surprised to know that, despite what old people keep saying, school is actually getting harder. While you're handed a lot more help than you used to and there's certainly a lot fewer beatings by teachers, we expect quite a bit from students when compared to the past.

Plus, think of all of the leaps we've seen in human knowledge over the years. How stupid do you think Math teachers feel now that we all carry a little rectangle in our pocket that doubles as a calculator? Also, what do Math teachers say to students now when they say they'll just use their phone in the future?!

If you ask us, all Math classes should be stopped indefinitely, although that may see a future of people who have no idea what they're doing if the production of phones suddenly stops for whatever reason. Does anybody else think it's ridiculous that video games, books, and films still use Roman numerals for their sequels? Do people really think that this will make us more interested than we already were or weren't?

We can't speak for everybody, but it seems pretty ridiculous that anybody would be enticed by something as simple as a Roman numeral. Why are we bothering to teach this sort of stuff to our children anymore? Just in case they don't know which Star Wars film they're watching?

It was also entertaining to see that the most universally dreaded category of questions by far was "World history". But as many critical reviews have noted, the execution of the concept was pretty poor.

The pace was too slow and the incessant commercial breaks were insufferable. The weakest point, though, was that the show used professional actors as the kids and they were clearly heavily prepped for each show's questions.

The show would have been much better off using real, non-actor, kids and rotating the cast of kids from episode to episode. The show would have been much more authentic and relatable. I hope that at some point in the future the show will come back in a different format. Umberto88 Apr 6, FAQ 5. How is this game show played? What kind of questions are asked on this game show?
